Make sure there are no metal objects or strong wind nearby. Click the compass arrow. It rotates and stops with the red end of the magnet pointing north. Turn the circular template so that the letter N is under the red end of the magnet. Be patient, it may take a few minutes for the compass to determine the direction due to its size and weight.
